I've been keeping myself very busy over the last week or so with our plans for our convention and fangames.

On the convention side, we got to meet a great person who said she'd help us organize and find a location to hold our convention. She's a member of the art community, setting up exhibits and the like, so she'll be bringing a lot of organizational experience. We're also planning to meet up with a hotel booking agent soon to find out the details of obtaining a location and time for our event.

On the fangame side, we also got to meet Harry Evry, a man who's been through it all, from movies to TV to games. He let us know about a few different resources that would greatly advance our progress in making our fangame. From his resources, I discovered DarkBasic [link] , a very powerful scripted game programming language. This is a huge help for us because we no longer have to develop our own graphics engine, it already comes with one. I've already started programming a demo, complete with title screen and main menu. By the end of the month I hope to get to the point where I can start making the battle engine.
